Why Volunteer?
The Y is a cause for strengthening communities, committed every day to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change right in your own neighborhood.  Each of our volunteers helps deliver the benefits of good health, strong connections, greater self-confidence and a sense of security to all who seek it. Everyone has something to give – whether it’s time, talent, financial support or caring! In 2012 we had appreciated the assistance of more than 400 individuals at the Y!

About Us
This year, the Hunterdon County YMCA celebrates 110 years of service in Hunterdon County and continues to play a vital role in the livelihood of community residents, providing programs that teach values, build self-esteem, and provide structured educational, recreational, social and wellness alternatives. The YMCA represents one of the few places in the community where people of different cultures, religious, ethnic origins and income levels come together on an equal footing for the good of all.

Currently, the Hunterdon County YMCA operates two wellness and fitness centers, youth sports, adult fitness and sports, youth and adult aquatics, three day camps, family programs, teen leadership and senior recreation and fitness programs. The Y oversees preschool programs and school aged child care consisting of before and after school programs throughout the county.

We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. That’s why, at the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side by side with our neighbors in our community to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Financial assistance keeps the Y available for kids and families who need us most. We count on the generosity of our members and community to help people of all ages and from all walks of life be more healthy, confident, connected and secure.
