Travel camp is for the adventurous camper. Each day the group will hop onboard a bus that departs Camp Carr and travel to an exciting destination. Most trips are within an hour radius of the camp (some may be a bit further). Trip destinations can include, but are not limited to, roller and ice-skating, historical destinations, indoor and outdoor amusement parks, pizza and movie day, swim destinations, and much more. The Travel camp schedule is posted early in the year. We do our best to keep the schedule as published, however due to the early creation of the schedule or weather issues we sometimes need to alter the trip destinations. Please be aware the schedule may change; it will be updated on the YMCA website if changes occur. Each Wednesday trips are planned to a further destination and will require an early drop off (7:45am) and a late pick-up (6:00pm) at Camp Carr. If your child is a bus rider to and from camp you will need to make other arrangements that day as they will not be able to utilize the bus.
Fee per week: Full Members: $310 | Program Members: $350

COMMUNITY IMPACT AND SERVICE PROGRAM
Ages 11-14 | August 7-11
In this new partnership between the YMCA and America’s Grow a Row campers will be guided through an experience that will broaden their knowledge of community impact and service. Through hands on and interactive workshops campers will learn about food insecurity and access issues, community health factors, and the importance of eating fresh produce. Working on the farm at America's Grow a Row, they will learn about the role of agriculture in the Garden State and get their hands in the soil, harvesting food for people in need. Campers will learn about the mission on America’s Grow a Row, and the week will culminate in a trip to deliver produce to our Free Farm Market in Jersey City (Supervised by YMCA and AGAR staff).

ENVIRONMENTAL ADVENTURE CAMP AT THE ROUND VALLEY YOUTH CENTER
Ages 6-10 years old | August 7-11
Children will be transported from Camp Carr to the Round Valley Youth Center in the morning and then return Camp Carr in the afternoon. Give your children a day camp experience they’ll never forget. Environmental Adventure Camp offers children the opportunity to explore the great outdoors and the wonders of nature while they enjoy fun, hands-on activities. Each camp day will be action-packed with a variety of activities that teach children about our environment. Hiking, field games, crafts, fishing, outdoor cooking, camp fires, special guests and much more will fill their days. We teach environmental appreciation and do so in a fun and educational way. This camp is held at the Round Valley Youth Center located on Route 629 on the West side of the Round Valley Reservoir. The sparkling blue water and green woodland environment of the Round Valley Reservoir and Youth Center provide an excellent habitat for native wildlife. The reservoir is also surrounded by great hiking trails that children take advantage of during the camp.
