Civic Engagement Programs and Service Learning Opportunities:

New Jersey Youth and Government –
Grades 7-12
Over 500 students participate in this model Legislature program.  Students at North Hunterdon, Voorhees, Hunterdon Central High Schools and JP Case Middle School can participate through their school’s club.  Other interested students can participate as part of a YMCA group and we are currently seeking schools interested in starting clubs.  Program runs January through April.  

Model UN - Grades 7-12
Over 1500 students from 4 states participate in the original Model UN program.  Students at North Hunterdon, Voorhees, Hunterdon Central and JP Case Middle School can participate through their school’s club.  Other interested students can participate as part of a YMCA based group and we are seeking other schools interested in starting clubs.  Program runs September through January.  

 

 

 


 

Leaders Club – Grades 7-12
The Leaders Club is a group of junior high school and high school students who learn to work together while helping the YMCA and the community.  Members plan recreational activities as well as special events and service projects.  All are welcome, no fee for participation.   Meetings are held year-round twice per month, Thursdays from 6:45-7:30
