Carmen’s Tip – Foam Rolling Part III
Self-Myofascial Release (SMR) can help speed muscle recovery. “Kneading” the muscles can reduce soreness by breaking up tight knots of connective tissue and enhance blood flow. Be gentle in your foam rolling. Gradually ease into supporting your full body weight. Foam rolling is a lot of work, but feels great in enhancing your recovery efforts.
To learn more about the foam rolling experience, you’re invited to join the Healthy Living Department for the Wellness Event “LET IT ROLL”. It will be held at the Deer Path Branch on Tuesday, September 25th at 7pm. We’ll have a few foam rollers on hand, but we encourage you to bring your own if you have one. This event is FREE; however, registration is required so we can adequately prepare. You have the option to purchase a foam roller at registration and it will be delivered at the event.
