  • Low in cholesterol; < 300 mg daily
  • High in fiber; 25-30 grams of fiber daily
  • Low in sodium; <2300 mg daily
  • Wholesome foods, not processed

 

Some of the best heart healthy foods are:

  • Salmon, trout, tuna
  • Flax seed
  • Oatmeal, brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat
  • Beans, lentils
  • Nuts
  • ALL whole fruits and vegetables

 

Try adding these foods to your diet a few times a week for a healthy heart!
