2019 Hunterdon County YMCA Annual Coat Drive
United Way Volunteer Center, Flemington
Various Days and Shifts for Sorting: November 12 – 15
Distribution Day: Saturday, November 16, 8 am to 1:30 pm
We are seeking volunteers to help with the Y’s Annual Coat Drive! We will be sorting and preparing for the distribution on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 11/12-11/15, and managing the distribution on Saturday, 11/16. The coat drive will be held at United Way of Hunterdon County’s Volunteer Center (20 Fulper Street, Flemington). Volunteers must be 14+, unless accompanied by an adult. Great volunteer opportunity for a family!
28th Annual Comedy Night
Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, Hampton
Friday, November 22, Various Shifts from 4 pm to 11 pm
The Hunterdon County YMCA will host its 28th Annual Comedy Night, at Hunterdon Hills Playhouse on Friday, November 22. Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up, as well as other event tasks throughout the evening. Dinner will be provided.
Family Volunteer Day, Event Volunteers
Saturday, November 23, 4 pm to 7 pm
Hunterdon County YMCA, Deer Path Branch
On Saturday, November 23, the Hunterdon County YMCA will be hosting its 1st Annual Family Volunteer Day from 5 pm to 6:30 pm at the Deer Path Branch, and it’s a great way for families to kick off the holiday season together! Families will work on volunteer projects that directly benefit organizations in our area. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old, and are needed to lead their assigned volunteer project, as well as assist families as needed with following the project directions.

Program Volunteer Opportunities
After School Program – School Age Child Care
Volunteers are sought to assist with after school program activities in 17 schools throughout the county. Volunteers generally help between the hours of 3 pm and 6 pm and must be at least 15 years old. This program runs during the school year.
Human Resources Volunteer
Volunteer is needed to assist with inventory of the HR shed and recreating electronic files; all work will be done in the Round Valley Admin Office. Volunteer should be detail-oriented and be competent in data entry. Please email Christine if interested!
Round Valley Child Learning Center
The Child Learning Center cares for children from 6 weeks through 5 years of age. Volunteers will participate in classroom activities and routines as directed by YMCA staff, including group play or outside activities. The Child Learning Center is located at the Round Valley branch in Annandale, and is open from 6:45 am—6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, year-round. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old.
The Milford Preschool cares for children from 2 1/2 to 5 years of age. Volunteers will participate in classroom activities and routines as directed by YMCA staff, including group play or outside activities. Adult volunteers (18+) are needed anytime between the hours of 9 am—1 pm, Monday through Friday. The Preschool is located at the Milford Presbyterian Church and runs from September through June.
Special Olympics Swim Team
The Dolphins Swim Team practices Mondays 4:45 pm – 5:30 pm and Fridays 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm at the Deer Path Branch. Under the direction of Y staff, volunteers are needed to work with the swimmers in the pool to develop skills and endurance. The season runs from September through June.
Youth Sports Classes
The Hunterdon County Y offers several youth sports classes each week at both the Deer Path and Round Valley branches, primarily weekday afternoons and evenings. Under the direction of Y staff, volunteers assist in caring for the children enrolled in these classes. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Take a look at our current Program Guide to see what classes are scheduled. Opportunities are dependent on enrollment in each class.
Youth Sports Leagues
We are seeking several adult volunteers (18+) to serve as youth sports league coaches.
Volunteers are expected to participate in league activities as directed by YMCA staff; assist with the set up and clean up of the activity; and show a positive and encouraging attitude when conducting the league. Leagues are primarily held on the weekends at the Deer Path branch. Teen helpers (age 12+) also welcome!
