The Hunterdon County YMCA, in partnership with Be Good – Feel Good Life Coaching, is proud to launch the 4MIND4BODY campaign for the “May is Mental Health Month”!

This is a FREE event for members and the community.  The talks will raise awareness of how anyone can improve their mental health with simple changes in their life. For the talks, Life Coach Nadjla Bowie, will present the relationship between mental health and the following topics:

• Animal Companionship (Nadjla & ProCanine Center)
• Spirituality (Nadjla, Loring Nagle & Heather Fraunberger)
• Work/Life Balance (Nadjla Bowie)
• Humor, Social Connections and Recreation (Nadjla Bowie)

Today’s topic is Work and Life Balance presented by Nadjla Bowie.

Nadjla Bowie is the founder of Be Good – Feel Good Life Coaching. Nadjla has a BS in Psychology and a MA in Latin American Studies with focus on Mental Health Policies. Join senior adults across the US who are participating in physical activities as part of this nationwide health and fitness event.

The Hunterdon County YMCA and goHunterdon have teamed up to offer the following free events:

10:00 am—SAFETY SASHAY—at the Round Valley Branch. goHunterdon staff will lead this fun, interactive and healthy walk on the walking path. 2 teams will compete against each other as they stop along the way to correctly complete questions and scenarios on pedestrian and bicycle safety.

10:30 am—ENHANCE FITNESS—at the Deer Path Branch. Enhance Fitness is an evidenced-based group exercise program that uses simple, easy-to-lean movements that motivate individuals with or without arthritis to stay active throughout their life.

12:15 pm—ZUMBA GOLD—at the Deer Path Branch. This is a Low impact Zumba class that fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic, energetic dance workout that will feel like a party not a workout. Appropriate for beginners.

1:15pm—BICYCLE RODEO— at the Deer Path Branch. goHunterdon will lead a Bicycle Rodeo for those seniors who enjoy riding their bikes both on and off road.  A rodeo is a bicycle skills event which provides an opportunity for bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them become better at bike handling and bicycle safety. Bring your bike and your helmet!

Join us for a night of NERF! Families can bring their own NERF gear or borrow our YMCA equipment.

A course will be provided in the gym for games of NERF tag and challenges.

The HCY Stingrays is a year-round competitive swim team offering high-quality, professional, coaching and technique instruction for ages 6 to 18 years. Our team competes in both YMCA and USA Swim meets. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability from the novice swimmer and beyond while instilling the YMCA core values.

The 1st Friday of every month, we invite your family to join us for an evening of themed crafts, activities, obstacle course, snacks, and fun!

Ages 1 1/2 – 14

The theme for June is: Step Into Summer Celebration!
