Hunterdon County YMCA is proud to offer a quality child care center to prepare young children for a bright future.

Child Learning Center

The YMCA Child Learning Center is a child development program with a rich educational foundation. We take learning seriously and recognize that even the youngest children are active learners. We are here to meet your needs and offer flexible enrollment options.

Curriculum

We implement the nationally recognized, research-based, Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies. These strategies support active learning and promote children’s individual progress. Additionally, our program aligns with the NJ Department of Education Preschool and Early Learning Standards for future success in school.

Our Staff

Our dedicated teachers are educated in Early Childhood best practices and encourage your child’s individual growth and development. We boast a low teacher turnover rate with the average staff member having dedicated over nine years to our well-rounded teaching team. Before working with us, our potential employees go through extensive background checks, are trained in CPR and First Aid, and participate in continuous professional development.

Grow New Jersey Certified

Hunterdon County YMCA is honored to be certified by Grow NJ Kids, New Jersey’s Quality Rating Improvement System. This enables our program to be assessed and improved and allows parents to receive the information they need to evaluate the quality of our program. We are proud to be held to the high Grow NJ Kids’ standards.

Healthy U

Healthy U is a collaborative partnership between the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance and the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey. We have the goal of combating childhood obesity through nutrition education, physical education, and family involvement.

The Y Advantage

We encourage whole family well-being through a reduced Healthy Family YMCA membership with full-time enrollment. The Child Learning Center is next to the Y Fitness Center, allowing parents to schedule wellness into their busy day. A benefit of being a part of the YMCA is that preschool age children have the opportunity to engage in Y extracurricular activities during their day.

Convenient Hours and Location

We are open year-round, Monday—Friday, 6:45 a.m.—6:00 p.m. We are located at 1410 Route 22 West, Annandale, NJ. There is easy access to Routes 22, 78, and 31.
