HUNTERDON COUNTY YMCA COMMUNITY POOL
We know you have a lot of questions. We do too. We are grateful for the outpouring of support many of you have expressed. We are committed to doing everything possible to secure the future of the YMCA, and all its services, as these uncertain times evolve.
As you can imagine, in the light of these unprecedented days, we have had to make some difficult decisions. We hoped to keep on track with our plans to reopen the Community Pool for this summer. However, due to the day-to-day uncertainties we are confronted with in response to the Covid-19 virus. Our YMCA leadership and our construction team, led by Hance Construction, has made the difficult decision to put the Pool Repair and Renovation project on hold for 2020.
We had made significant progress on the project, both from a construction timeline and in our fundraising efforts. That progress slowed considerably as the virus response, both locally and nationally, has nearly overwhelmed our community and country. As we prioritized our needs and those of the community, we believe the prudent decision is to put the project on hold, and resume our efforts in the fall and winter for a summer 2021 opening.
As our facilities and offices are all now closed, if you have questions, it is best that all communication be by email over the next several weeks. All communication should be sent to Kristin Heimall at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are deeply disappointed that this community jewel will not open for another summer. From the day we began to discuss our involvement with the pool, there has been a true sense of excitement and anticipation about the many opportunities we would have to provide programs and services within the community.
We will get through this, and look forward to opening our gates next summer to serve you and your family for years to come.
