The Hunterdon County YMCA recognized a need for a US Citizenship study group in the community. Under the direction of the Y’s Bilingual Program Coordinator the Y launched a pilot program in July 2011. Based on its initial success the Y began offering the study program to the community in September 2011.

Anyone who is eligible to become a US Citizen is welcome. There is no cost to participate. The program is underwritten through the Y’s Annual Campaign. The Y provides the forms and study materials from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).The study group includes basic English lessons for reading and writing, Civics, and History. Participants also have the opportunity to practice the interview process.

The study group meets every Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the offices of United Way, conveniently located within walking distance to downtown Flemington.
