Monica has been a member and Employee of the Summit YMCA for over 15 years. She has always loved movement of the body. As a young child she would always be running, biking, swimming, jumping & climbing. Pursuing her passion of “movement of the body” she became certified in spinning, which she’s been teaching for 20 years and is still loving it! She continued her education in health and physical fitness and became AFAA Certified in Personal training. Monica finds working one on one with individuals and helping them improve their fitness level and quality of life very rewarding and satisfying. She feels it’s important for each client to discover what their personal strengths are and to focus on them. Her motto is: “If you’re not having fun, don’t do it – keep it fresh – constantly challenge yourself!” She has competed in road races of all distances from 5K to Marathon as well as Cross Country. She also has competed in several Duathalon and Triathalon events. She continues to work out daily, mixing it up with strength and conditioning. She has been Assistant Coaching at Kent Place School for the past 11 years.
