SARA HULL, Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, has been with the HCYMCA since 2008. She has always been passionate about fitness, nutrition, and health and enjoys sharing this with others. Sara started her fitness journey here at the HCYMCA by becoming a MossaGroup Power instructor. Since then she has been certified in Group Step, Kick, and Core, and is a Tester for MOSSA programming. Some of Sara’s certifications have taken the back burner, so that she may concentrate and use her creativity on other areas of fitness, such as Tabata, BOSU, HIIT, and spin. Sara is a certified personal trainer through International Sports Science Association and holds a certificate in Sports Nutrition.
Sara became a mom in August 2015. When Sara isn’t at the gym, you can catch her hiking or walking with her son. Sara has run two ½ marathon races, done a self-guided 26.2 mile hike through Havasu Falls Indian Reservation, Grand Canyon, AZ, and and has participated in multiple 5k and 10k obstacle races. The biggest, but most rewarding challenge Sara has endured was training through 38 weeks of pregnancy.
Sara loves nature and enjoys taking her workouts outdoors whenever possible. She uses her energetic personality to drive her training sessions. Sara likes to do a sit-down evaluation with her training clients before training. She wants to really know who you are and find out what your interests are. She applies this to designing a custom plan for each individual she trains. She thinks of your training program as a “fitness prescription”, so it has to be individualized. Sara likes to think outside the box with her training method and is versatile in many training styles. Some of her strengths are interval training, strength training, functional and integrated exercises, and working on muscle activation.
