Professionally organized by the North Hunterdon Rotary Club and the Hunterdon County YMCA, and limited to 600 athletes, our  long-running, well organized  and attended event provides one of the most enjoyable and challenging courses of this distance anywhere in the country. Whether a first-timer or experienced tri or duathlete, Skylands welcomes all! Swim your half mile course in the Spruce Run Reservoir; Bike rural Hunterdon County’s challenging 14 plus miles (including a long up and fast down hill tour de Jugtown Mountain) and run 5k in the self-contained State Park. All are invited to enjoy the race, lunch buffet, our DJ Dan Torrone, “Doctor D”, and awards ceremonies. Your registration also includes a great t-shirt and a finisher medal.

Learn to Swim Day & Cardboard Boat Regatta

In Celebration of  National Learn to Swim Day and Water Safety Month The Y is Proud to Launch the First Cardboard Boat Regatta!

Friday, May 18  | 5:30 to 9:00 PM at the Deer Path Branch Pool

Families and individuals are challenged to design, create and race a human powered boat made entirely out of cardboard and duct tape! On May 18 bring completed boats to the Y for judging and races.

In addition, Mini-swim lessons, Swim Level Assessments, Boating Safety and Survival Demos and a Water Safety Presentation will be conducted by Y Water Safety experts.  Plus a Drawing for a Free Session of Y Swim Lessons. 

Prizes for the Regatta include speed, creative design, spirit, and the Davey Jones award. Guidelines and boat building information available here and at the Welcome Center. Advance registration required. For more information, contact: jrice@hcymca.org or fmannino@hcymca.org.

The HCYMCA Department of Early Childhood Education is pleased to invite you to the inaugural Preschool Prom. This is a semi-formal (kids) event aimed to bring together all the Y families with young children, including the Child Learning Center and Milford Preschool.

The event will feature hot/cold hos-d'oeuvres, a live performance by Bobby Beetcut, red-carpet photo-ops, dancing, table-activities, and hilarious fun for the whole family!

Togetherhood River Clean Up

Musconetcong Watershed Association 26th Annual River Clean-up

Please join the Hunterdon County YMCA Togetherhood™ Committee at the 26th Annual River Clean-up on Saturday, April 14th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm at the Fishing Access site on Rt 173 and Asbury-Bloomsbury Road (Across from 4 Paws). 

The Watershed Association will provide volunteers with trash & recycling bags, gloves, water, granola and a commemorative t-shirt. After the clean-up, the Musconetcong Watershed Association will host a BBQ for all volunteers at their River Resource Center (10 Maple Avenue, Asbury, NJ) to thank everyone for their hard work!

Important Note: Please include t-shirt size when registering! All volunteers must be registered by March 25.

We are proud to host the 25th Annual Special Olympics Area 04 Swim Meet at the Deer Path Branch pool.

The Area Meet is the qualifying meet that allows swimmers to progress to sectional competition and then on to the Summer Games.

Wellness Seminar - Ornish Lifestyle Medicine

Join us for this free seminar to learn about the Ornish Lifestyle Medicine Program.

Staff from Hunterdon Medical Center will be at the Y to introduce the Ornish Lifestyle Medicine Program and show you how it can help you slow, stop, and reverse the progression of heart disease.

The Ornish Program focuses on four elements: nutrition, exercise, stress management and group support. The event includes interactive discussions, the opportunity to meet the Ornish team, and appetizers provided by the Ornish Program.

The Ornish Lifestyle Medicine Team that will conduct the seminar are Christine Tucker, BSN, Nurse Case Manager; Dr. Jonathan Horiuchi, Medical Director; Gail Secrettar, Stress Management Facilitator; Melissa Pickell, Registered Dietitian; and Kate Pagan, MA, CES, Clinical Exercise Physiologist.

This seminar is free and open to all. Bring a friend! RSVP requested at the Welcome Centers of either Branch or register online now.

March Member Challenge!

Get in the game! Join the March Member Challenge. We have two great challenges.

Throughout the month of March -

Adult Members:

1.  Pick up a card in a fitness class or at the Welcome Center.

2. Workout anywhere in the Y-- Fitness Center, Group Fitness Classes, Swimming, Basketball, etc.

3. Have a staff member initial and date your card to verify the workout. (ViPR classes count as 2 workouts).

4. After 10 workouts on different days, drop your card off at the Welcome Center.

5. Start a new card!

You'll automatically be entered into a drawing to win a prize!

Prizes:

  •  TRX Program - 10 sessions ($65 value)
  • Personal Training Starter Program - (3 sessions, $99 value)
  • Fitbit Alta Fitness Tracker ($130 value)

Youth Fitness Class Members - It's Youth Fitness Bingo!

Fit for Cancer Indoor Cycling Event

Fit for Cancer is a day of fun and exercise to raise money for Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. According to the American Cancer Society, over one million people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Approximately one out of every two American men and one out of every three American women will have some type of cancer during their lifetime. At Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, approximately 650 people are diagnosed with cancer annually. The money raised through Fit for Cancer has provided patient and program support to meet the physical, emotional and financial needs of the patients. Many of them are our friends and neighbors.

It's a 2 hour cycling experience. There will be a mini-break at the end of the first hour to refresh.

Cost - $40 per participant. Refreshments and event t-shirt included! 100% of registration fees go directly to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center
