The Y offers tween & teen swim lessons at various competency levels from beginner to pre-competitive. We know that an 11-year-old beginner swimmer will not get in the pool with a 7-year-old swimmer of the same level. We have designed age-appropriate classes to ensure that children of any age can learn to swim and advance in their swimming goals for safety, fitness or sport.
Competitive Clinic – Ages 9-14
Designed for swimmers who have passed Stage 6 (formerly Flying Fish) and want to learn about competitive swimming while refining their techniques in all 4 competitive strokes. Starts, turns and finishes all taught.
Power Swim – Ages 9-14
Designed for students who have passed Flying Fish or Shark and want the challenge of twice-weekly workouts to improve technique, endurance and fitness levels. Great for staying in shape between sport seasons.
Advanced Teen Power Swim – Ages 13-18
Teens take your swimming to the next level. This advanced course will feature challenging and fun one hour long workouts which help students improve their technique, endurance and fitness levels. Includes worksheets to help students identify their individual swimming and fitness goals and help them write and design their own swimming workouts
