Teens and tweens are welcome to join us at the Hunterdon County YMCA, Deer Path Branch for a mix of NERF tag, Archery Tag, Basketball, Paint Night, and Gaga Ball. Pizza and refreshments provided. Activities are supervised by YMCA staff.

Civic Engagement Programs

Model UN – Grades 7-12

Over 1500 students from 4 states participate in the original Model UN program.  Students at North Hunterdon, Voorhees, Hunterdon Central, Readington Middle and JP Case Middle School can participate through the club at their school.  High school students attend Model UN 1 and Middle School students attend Model UN 2.   In both programs, students take on the role of a United Nations delegate from an assigned country and work with other delegates to propose solutions to assigned topics.  Other interested students can participate as part of a YMCA based group and we are seeking other schools interested in starting clubs.  The program runs September through January.

New Jersey Youth and Government – Grades 7-12

Over 500 students participate in this model Legislature program.  Students at North Hunterdon, Voorhees, Hunterdon Central High Schools , Readington Middle and and JP Case Middle School can participate through clubs at their school.  Other interested students can participate as part of a YMCA group and we are currently seeking schools interested in starting clubs.  The program runs January through April.

In Youth and Government, students take on the role of a New Jersey legislator and propose a bill to be come a law.   Students spend the 3 day conference attempting to get their bill passed through a model of the NJ legislature, from committee to the youth governor and his/her cabinet.

Leaders Club – Grades 7-12

The Leaders Club is a group of junior high school and high school students who learn to work together while helping the YMCA and the community.  Members plan recreational activities as well as special events and service projects.  All are welcome, no fee for participation.

Meetings are held year-round twice per month, Thursdays from 6:45-7:30
